From The Pastor

I have been the pastor of the Wilmington First Pentecostal Holiness Church since April 1998.  We are a traditional holiness-Pentecostal church, with deep roots in the Classical Pentecostal movement of the early 20th Century (cf. http://arc.iphc.org/theology/artfaith.html).

We work hard to be faithful to God’s calling, to develop a contemporary ministry which represents the gospel of Jesus Christ, its saving provisions and benefits, to this generation.  However, we are equally committed to the true goal of evangelism, not merely making “converts”, but disciples. This is the heart of Jesus’ command, his so-called Great Commission (Matt 28:18-20). For that reason we strive for balance in ministry and style, in order to reach, teach and nuture people of every age and social status.

Paul warned the church to aggressively guard the unity of the Holy Spirit (Eph 4:3).  This is our goal through  fellowship, and love that crosses the traditional boundaries that divide people.
